An Introduction of Gary Schaefer

An Introduction Of Gary Schaefer
Co founder
G'S Adoption Registry

Gary Schaefer was born 7-31-1962 to Mrs. Rosie Bruner Schaefer and Mr. Gerold Schaefer, in Mankato Minnesota.
Gary was raised in  Mankato Minnesota and Attended  Mankato West High School. It had become a Family Tradition to attend and Graduate from Mankato West High School. Gary had a good family life there in Mankato up until the age of Nine years, it was then that Gary's parents had divorced and Gary was to lose his relationship to his fathers side of the family, that part of his family would be lost to him for sometime. Gary was very close to his Paternal Grandparents. He enjoyed going to the family farm and hunting with his Grandpa. He was a  Marksman Sniper Instructor during World War Two.
This was extremely devastating to Gary as they were to no longer to have contact with him or his brothers, due to the wishes of his father. His father abandoned the family and wanted no contact with him. He also wanted his parents, Gary's grandparents to have no contact with Gary age Nine years or his brothers Darold age Seven years and brother. NO contact for the Paternal Family side, Grandparents, Aunts, Uncles, etc. Except for Four Cousins.
This part of Gary's family was lost for sometime, which in time would make this a longing in his heart to help other families separated by Adoption or Loss.  Gary's mother Rosie Schaefer opened her home to handicapped children and adults, some with mental and physically challenged abilities. They modified their home for these special needs children and adults. Gary put in a lot of time and effort to help these children and adults. He spent time with them, he cooked for them, he did their laundry and and met what ever needs they may have needed met.
His mother Rosie had done a excellent job in his raising even though she was a single mother. Rosie was a fighter and survivor she taught Gary to be strong yet sensitive to all people. She also taught him the strong values of love and family ties, which would be some of his greatest strengths and assets. It was through Rosie's love and guidance that Gary would flourish and become the man he is today. He would become a man of courage, strength and honesty, who would have an open heart to help others. With the love and support of his mother Gary had all of the genuine qualities that would make him unique.
Gary has had many obstacles in his life to hit him hard during his lifetime. At age Sixteen Gary was working with Latch Key Kids from the Y.W.C.A. during a Softball game, Gary tore the cartilage in his left knee and had to have surgery to repair the cartilage and knee. He then had to have physical therapy for this injury. During the Eleventh Grade he fell through a Grandstand at a Race Track, because of its partial collapse, Gary fell a total of eighteen and a half feet. Gary had torn his Achilles tendon with a T-9 compression fracture and head trauma.  Gary was hospitalized for three days. Gary's Mom Rosie was injured in this accident as well.
Gary's mom Rosie married Rex Macbeth on 12-31-1977. Gary was Fifteen years old at the time. Rex would become the Father figure that Gary would need in his teenage years. Rex would also become the father to Gary, that he had missed having, while growing up. Rex and Gary had a loving, caring, Father / Son, relationship and spent much time together. Rex and Gary's relationship was very special relationship. It was Rex that had gotten Gary into racing, it was a hobby they could share. Gary also worked with him in the R & R Tire Shop that Rosie and Rex started. Rex had previously worked at Kerr McGee. When Kerr McGee closed down Rosie and Rex started a Tire Shop out of their home garage on hwy 66. After the R &R Tire Shop Businesses took off Rosie and Rex had a building built across from Perkins at 1150 North River Drive, here in Mankato, Minnesota.
They needed to expand their business. It had grown and was doing very well. Even though Rosie and Rex had started at the bottom they would quickly rise to the top. It is still there today. Gary's brother Darold and his wife Dawn bought the R & R Tire Shop from Rosie and Rex. Dawn and Darold already owned Creative Ad Solutions. They then added Midwest Wheel Cover along with Creative Ad Solutions which they owned prior to Midwest Wheel Cover and R & R Tire Shop to their Business Repertoire. They have been very Successful with their Business Endeavors.
Then Gary  Graduated from Mankato West High School, which had become a long standing Family Tradition. Shortly after Graduation there in Minnesota, Gary would meet Danna Jones, who had Graduated a year behind him at Mankato West High School. Gary and Danna would have a whirlwind romance. Theirs was a Destiny to be fulfilled as Husband and Wife. Gary met Danna on 7-4-1983. He would propose to Danna on 7-19-1983. He married Danna Jones on 1-7-1984 here in Mankato, Minnesota. Danna would be the love of his life forever. Gary and Danna lived in Mankato Minnesota in a trailer house they bought, its address was on Lynn Lane.
Gary and Danna's family would soon grow. Their son Chris was born 6-26-1985, and eight years later their daughter Cody was born in Reno, NV.
Their family was complete. Well almost, Danna was Adopted and now needed to find her Birth Mother for Health and Medical Records since she had children of her own. She also wanted to know who her birth mother was, and possibly meet her. Danna had lots of questions and yearnings to know where she came from. Gary and Danna would start an Adoption Registry, and begin their Adoption Search Journey to help find
Marjorie Ann Olson who was Danna's Birth Mother. They would help many people Separated through Adoption or Lost to Adoption find their loved ones. This was a passion of Danna and Gary's not just for themselves but for everyone.
Gary and Danna believed strongly in their hearts that Adopted People should have access to their Adoption Files, they believed it was the Right of every person to know their Birth History, Parentage and their Lineage. They believed that Everyone should have Updated Medical Information. It was their Heart's Desire to Reunite People who were Lost or Separated by Adoption. They also believed it should be Free, and that Non Identifying Information should be Free, also called Non Id. They believed that The State and agencies should not be allowed to charge you $600.00 dollars or more for this Info. Although the charging for Non Id has not changed, the Reuniting of Adoptees has changed and for the better.
Since  G'S Adoption Registry has begun, it has been Gary and Danna's dream to help Reunite As Many People as Possible for Free. A tradition they started as husband and wife to Reunite as many Adoptees as possible for Free. This was their Dream.
They had G'S Adoption Registry up and running with full dedication 24/7.
Adoptees and Reunions were on the way. A passion and desire to burn through the years. G'S Adoption Registry had become a reality as of 10-12-1998. However it was originally called G' Spot United States Adoption Registry. Which was meant to stand for God's Spot United States Adoption Registry, For our God Who Art in Heaven, it was shortened to G' Spot United States Adoption Registry. This was a secret but now you know what G- Spot Stands for .ha ha. It still stands for Gods Spot because Gary believes people are sent to the Registry for a reason. Gary and Danna re named it G'S Adoption Registry. At this time Gary and Danna were living in Sparks, Nevada and had just bought their home there, with their Two children Chris and Cody Ann.  Gary was working in Reno, Nevada for Dominoes Pizza in 1990. Gary was robbed while working there, he was severely beaten by five males. This would lead to one of his many disabilities. Gary then went to work at Yellow Cab Taxi and was hit by a drunk driver in 1999  this hurt his health tremendously. This would be the time frame that Gary would start having Seiziures. He would then soon be Diagnosed as having a Seizure Disorder along with short term memory loss.
In  2006, Gary's step Dad Rex had been Diagnosed as having a Terminal Blood Disease. So Cody Ann came back to Minnesota to help her Grandma Rosie take care of Grandpa Rex and spend his remaining days with him. In the Fall of 2006 Cody Ann would start school at Mankato West High School as a Freshman. That summer in July of 2006  Rosies beloved husband Rex would pass away. Gary's father figure would be lost to him, as well as Chris and Cody Ann's Grandfather. Cody Ann was blessed to have spent this Precious time with him in his last days.
Gary and Danna made a decision to move back to Mankato, Minnesota to live in January 2007. Danna was to come home to Minnesota and begin working with Gary's brother's wife Dawn at the family business that Dawn and Darold owned. She flew back to Minnesota to be with daughter Cody and start her new job with Dawn, her Adoptive Dad and Cody met her at the Airport, they were with Danna when she was trying to get the luggage cart. Danna passed away while standing there. There was nothing Danna's Dad or Cody could have done to help her it was Sudden Death for Danna on 1-31-2007. Gary and his family were devastated. He had lost the love of his life and the mother of his children, also his very best friend and confidant. Gary's life was forever changed on 1-31-2007.
Gary moved back right away after the Funeral and moved in with his brother Darold and wife Dawn along with his Mother and Children. He was to stay with them and draw strength and support from the very family who loved him so much. Gary has been diagnosed with Diabetes 2-9-2009. This has been hard for Gary as he also has Seizures and is on Meds for that too. It was the Auto Accident from the Drunk Driver that may have Precipitated the Seizures Condition. He also has High Blood Pressure.
December is a very hard month for Gary it was Danna's Favorite Time of the Year and Christmas was one of their Special Holidays that they Shared together. Danna's birthday is also 12-4-1963. Gary and his children along with his Family still celebrate her birthday. Also December 31. st/  is Gary's Mom's and step Dad Rex's Anniversary so it is hard on him for losing his only Father Figure and his Mother misses his Step Dad Rex very much. Gary worries about his Mother.
January is another hard month for Gary as well.  It is the month of his Wedding Anniversary, January 7,th. This year was Gary's 25,th, Wedding Anniversary. He was to celebrate it alone, just Two short years after his wife Dannas death. Dannas Death Anniversary is 1-31-2007. So the month of January is very difficult for Gary. December and January are hard times of the year for the Schaefer Family and Gary.
His Daughter Cody is about to Graduate from the Eleventh Grade. She is looking forward to her Senior Year here at Mankato West High School. A standing Family Tradition that Gary and Danna had started .
Gary has been a work in progress, just as G'S Adoption Registry has been a work in progress.
With many thanks to his Brother Darold and Wife Dawn and his mother Rosie as strong Supporters, of Danna and Gary's dream of this continueing Web Site and all that it entails.
Dawn and Darold and his mother Rosie would invest in G'S Adoption Registry in an effort to help keep the Registry up and going in Danna's Loving Memory. Dawn and Darold and his mother Rosie would Donate much money, effort and  time into G'S Adoption Registry. Dawn would help Gary remodel the G'S Adoption Registry Web Site and give him much Support during the most devastating time in his life, The Loss of his Beloved Wife Danna.
This Adoption Registry would probably not be here to help the thousands of people searching, if it was not for Dawn and Darold and his mother Rosie who Help Support This Site. They Willingly Support this Site and all it stands for. It is in Danna's loving Memory that they give so whole heartedly to this Registry.
If you are in the area or would like to give a shout out,to Dawn and Darold and his mother Rosie for all of thier Support in Helping to Keep this Registry Open. Please feel free to do so, on the Message Board here at G'S Adoption Registry.
Gary is a work in progress, so more to come in the Future.

PS. In June 2010 Gary's daughter Cody Ann Schaefer will Graduate Mankato West High school.
It will be the 50th, High School Graduation Anniversary Date of her Grandma Rosie Brunner Graduation.
Her grandma Rosie and Grandpa Rex Macbeth also Graduated here in Minnesota at Mankato West High School.
Cheers to another 50 years, Happy Anniversary Rosie.

Stephanie, lost her fight with cancer on 8-13-2011. She will be missed by us all very much at G'S. Stephanie Curtright was a G'S Search Angel she started with G'S 2-1-2007 All USA Team #1 than she got breast cancer and started helping Gary behind the scenes with fixing forms and making calls on updates and helping with pages on our site like search angel rules page, Gary's history page and some of the Search Angel Advice pages are just as a few. Plus she worked on solving Gary's wife Danna's birth brothers search. She helped Gary through many very bad times in his life by being there for him on chat or by phone. So because of all she has done for G'S and Gary we have added her name at top of Our site.

The Nation's Hourly Minimum Wage is $7.25 x 40 hours is $290.00 x 4 = $1160.00 + over time is $10.88 a hour 20 hours = $217.60 x 4 = $1,086.40 so for 60 hour work week you have $507.60 x 4 = $2,030.40 a month or $24,364.80 a year   Minimum Wage Laws in the States - Wage and Hour Division  PS Minnesota is now $9.50 a hour.

Over the last 18 years Gary has Donated over $438,566.40 in time at Minimum Wage, plus every month he loses out on his ssi disability $1,286.00 only because he started this site and it is Free. $15,432 every year gone.
