All Other Information: Hello all, My unwed grandmother gave her unborn son up for adoption back between 1950-1953. She was roughly 16-17 years old at the time. Her son found her several years ago and she said she didn't know what he was talking about and asked him to leave. What he didn't know is that she has been suffering from Dementia for the last 10+ years and has / had very little memory of her past. She wasn't being rude, she truly doesn't remember. She still doesn't. We as a family would like to meet him, and have him meet her before she passes. We were only informed of this a short time ago that he was out there. (Update) Birth mother is 5’5” tall, with blue eyes and dark hair. All of her sons are around 5'9” tall, with blue eyes and dark hair. We as a family do not have any information about the birth father what so ever. We have not done any DNA testing as we have only known about this for a short amount of time.

I have a Certified Copy of Adoption Judgement that took place in the Fourth Judicial District in Hennepin County on 10-16-1952 and is signed by Philip C. Schmidt the Clerk of the court. The number attached to the document is AD 7081. I also have a signed "Agreement of Placement" between Walter Rapraeger (adoptee father) and the Catholic Welfare Association on 11-21-1951. I know that she was in the hospital for close to a month. I have a letter that has tons of background information regarding Linda Rapraeger's birth family history. It says: Mary (Lind's birth name) was born on 10-28-1951 at 11:57p.m. She weighed 5 lbs and 9 oz and measured 19.5" long. She is small boned, well developed baby with light brown hair and blue eyes. Her mother is 5'5" tall and weighs 115 lbs. She has a round full face, regular features, light brown hair, blue eyes and fair skin. She dresses attractively and is well groomed and neat in appearance. She is a high school graduate and was very active in student affairs. She belonged to the choral club and took part in school plays. She attended business college and is now employed as a secertary in a large firm. She had measles, mumps, whooping cough and chicken pox as a child. She has had no major illness or operation and does not have any allergies. Her father is of French descent, 5'10" tall, slender with dark brown hair, blue eyes, and a fair complexion. He is a high school graduate and is employed as a salesman. He is in good health Her mother is of English descent. She completed high school, two years of college and business college and has worked as a book keeper and school teacher before and since her marriage. She is in excellent health. My father was about 3 years old when he was placed for adoption and adopted and was with his mother prior to being placed for adoption. My grandparents had to wait for the birth parent/parents to fully sign over rights of the child before they could legally adopt him. I believe they were both fairly young. Papers from adoption state that the mother was Irish and the father was French. the father had possibly died before or sometime after the birth? The date of the copy of the certificate is August 2nd 1957. I am assuming that this is the date that the adoption possibly became legal or sometime close to?

She too had been employed as a telephone operator around the time prior or after the birth. She had also been employed at Crane Co ?. She had her thyroid removed sometime in the 1960's in California, possibly Castle Air Force Base. She also had Glaucoma. The birth father was Walter William Pesina Jr. also went by William Walter Pesina Jr., he was 5'6" tall, 160 lbs., with brown eyes and brown hair. His date of birth was 6-6-1928 and deceased on 6-21-2009. He was Bohemian with a touch of Pennsylvania Dutch. He was a mail carrier, and in his later years had cornea transplant in appox 1970 at the University of MN. He also had lung problems. Walter and Frances had lived together at Piedmonts Apts in St Paul, MN, they split up and my mother moved home to her parents (Henry and Anna Facklam) at 623 East Maryland St Paul, MN. She was kept hidden from the public while she was pregnant as this was a big shame on the family. She gave birth at Ancker Hospital and the baby was turned over to Lutheran Services for adoption. We only found out the information in the past year, as my father thought he was on his death bed and relayed the information to my sister, she thought he was dislusional and left it at that. She then asked him again sometime later and he repeated the same information. My aunt the confirmed more of it. I really don't know where to go from here? We believe that all information on his records has been falsified to cover-up his birth. All Other Information: I was born 8-21-1954 in Booth Memorial Hospital and adopted through Lutheran Social Services on 11-8-1954. While signing the adoption papers, my adoptive mother saw a name in my file and wrote it down: Jeanette Ann Holmes. My foster mother had written a note to my adoptive parents about “Baby Jeanette’s” care and schedule. My adoptive mother believed Jeanette Ann Holmes was the name my birth mother gave me when she had me. In 2007 I asked Lutheran Social Services to find my birth mother and ask her permission for contact. She denied contact but gave LSS a lengthy interview that was typed up and sent to me. This is a synopsis of information given to me when I was adopted and the 2007 interview: My birth mother had finished high school and had worked as a waitress, a bookkeeper and a store clerk and was 17 or 18 years old when she had me. (Born about ?-?-1937 ?). She was 5’8” tall and weighed 165 lbs. (pregnancy weight ?). She was the oldest of 6 children. She had blue eyes and dark blonde hair, a fair complexion. She was Swedish and Irish descent. Her plans were to go to nursing school and become a nurse. In 2007 she hand-wrote a short note to be forwarded to me: she’s “always happy and smiling; she’s tidy and prim; a perfectionist; always active; loves to sew and craft; she never leaves the house without her make-up and hair done; loves people and enjoys organizing activities, and people say she looks like Betty White.” My birth mother only shared my birth fathers’ name with her parents, who have now passed away. She still keeps his name a secret. She did say that he was about 21 years old, had lived in her community, had completed high school, served in the armed services and had died in a car accident a few months before I was born. He was Norwegian and German descent, 6’3” tall, with brown eyes and black hair, dark complexion. My birth grandfather was an only child, was 6’2” tall, 180 lbs. with blue eyes and brown hair. He was in his early 40’s in ?-?-1954, a healthy, friendly, outgoing self-employed farmer. At 72 years old he died of a heart attack “without warning”. My birth grandmother was also in her early 40’s in ?-?-1954. She had blue eyes and dark brown hair, finished high school, healthy, capable and bright. She died at age 64 of cancer – “spider cancer that affected all her female organs and brain”, only 3-1/2 months after the diagnosis. My birth mother was the eldest child, her siblings: 2 years younger a brother, in high school in ?-?-1954 and loved all sports, 6’ tall, 180 lbs, he died of lung disease from an asbestos related job; 4 years younger a brother, also loved sports and in high school in ?-?-1954, medium build, had prostate cancer in 2006 but doing well in 2007; 7 years younger twin sisters in grade school in ?-?-1954. One died in ?-?-1990 of leukemia, the other has high blood pressure; 10 years is the youngest sibling: a sister born with a congenital anomaly, it was repaired and who was fine in ?-?-2007.My maternal Great-grandmother died in her early ?-?-1950’s of a heart attack; maternal great-grandfather was born in Sweden, blue eyes and brown hair, farmer, died in his mid-?-?-1950’s of cancer. My paternal Great-grandmother died in the late ?-?-1920’s of “undulant fever”. My paternal Great-grandfather died when he was 57 of unknown causes. He was a painter/decorator with blue eyes and brown hair, medium build and 6’ tall. My birth mother said she had no uncles or cousins. My birth mother said she had a maternal aunt that had breast cancer at 52 and died at 72 (?-?-1997) of heart problems.

I have taken the DNA test through 23andMe so if I have a potential birth brother or birth sister, their mtDNA would equal mine although their paternal DNA would not. My mtDNA is X2a1 which puts me Native American from around the Great Lakes region, but my mom has denied she was Indian for most of her life. All Other Information: In about 2005 I requested information from the adopting agency for medical reasons. My birth mother was located and she gave some non-identifying information. I had written her a letter with information about me. She was not in a position to make contact or acknowledge my existence to her current family. My birth mother was approximately 17 years old at my birth. (she would be about 78 now) and went to a maternity home. My birth father was about 18 years old. He was supposedly not involved with my birth mother during, and after, the pregnancy. My birth mother is of English / Irish and French / German Austrian descent. It is thought that my birth father was Scandinavian as she described him as tall, blond, and blue-eyed. She said she had brothers, and I think she said a sister, as well. She also said I have some half-siblings. She said her parents lived into their nineties, so perhaps she is still living. I was adopted through Children's Home Society of Minnesota in 3-?-1955. Amended Birth Certificate shows my name as being Elizabeth McKenzie Reid,(should be MacKenzie)The Certificate has the numbers 122.55-061550 on the top left, and 11357 on the top right. It was officially filed with the State of Minnesota on 2-5-1955. DNA is currently being processed via AncestryDNA. I submitted a request for Original birth Records or the Affidavit of Disclosure from the Minnesota Department of Health. I have received, this week, notification that no consent to disclose was filed by my birth parents. The request is being forwarded on to the adopting agency to hopefully obtain consent from my birth mother. (Update) I am currently 5'4" tall. I was 5'6" tall at my tallest, before having a 16ft garage door pulled down on me. I have gray / green eyes and light brown hair turning gray. All Other Information: I am searching for my mother and myself on wanting to find and meet the little boy that her mother and my grandmother gave up after his birth. This has been something we have been dreaming to do for a very long time and it is a great wish of my mother's since she was raised as an only child and once she found out about him she has always wished to find him and hopefully have him and his family join ours. The only details we know is she went to the Twin-Cities and stayed with the nuns and they had her working with a wealthy family by the name of Mr. and Mrs. Nelson who had 3 children she helped take care of up until she delivered. Her mother lived to 78 and died of a blood clot. My father was about 33 years old when I was born. No real information available at this time, other than he was a musician and quick tempered. All Other Information: I am trying to find my mothers oldest daughter-who would be my half-sister. I looked over the information that is posted, but some dates are different. My mother was born on 11-20-1940. She was 5'1" tall, weighted about 100-110 lbs. My mother also had an olive type completion, but in the winter she was tanner than the rest of us. She was only 15-16 years old when the baby was born. My grandmother was born 12-5-1903 I believe. My grandfather was born I believe a few years after my grandmother. My grandparents where married in Iowa in ?-?-1935 or ?-?-1937. I can look at all the documentation that I have to get exact dates. My grandmother was 100% German and my grandfather being Scotch-Irish and German if I remember correctly. I do know the baby was born to Gail E. McPheeters and a Jim or James Peterson. I do not know much about him-the birth father. My mother was raised in Minneapolis all her life and she was young upon the birth of the baby, but the father was not of legal age either. I do have an old friend of my mothers that knows quite a bit about the situation. She was my mothers best friend in Jr. High. My father married my mother in 10-?-1958 in Iowa-because my mother was not old enough to marry in the state of Minnesota. My mother also had a son from the birth father. He has dark features-dark brown hair almost looking black, hazel eyes and yes at times they do look brown depending on the color of clothing that they ware. My brother is about 5'6" to 5'7" in height, slender built. He was born in ?-?-1959. I am not sure of the hospital, but the agency was affiliated with Lutheran Social Services. I know the baby was born in Minneapolis, more than likely Hennipen County. My mother did have her and had her in the place she was at for a little while before the baby was adopted. My mother and birth father did try to keep the baby, per the court, but the court found the father not mature enough, so they where not given the authority by the court to marry or keep the baby. Tammy was born in ?-?-1957, not sure of month or day. I know it was not cold out. My mother was at one of Luthern Social Services homes in Minneapolis. My mother was 17 at the time of birth. The baby was born at Luthern I hope some of this information is helpful or maybe dates can be pieced together. I hope to find my half-sister as much as you find your family.

That catholic charities in St. Cloud, MN handled the adoption. I was a preemie, and believe I was in the hospital for about a month. Which hospital, I am unaware of.
