All Other Information: Birth mother has brown eyes and brown hair, Approx. 5'4" tall, DOB: Winter ?-?-1947, Last known residence: Providence, RI Gave birth to Rhonda Ann on 7-29-1965 at 6:01 a.m., St. Josephs Hospital in Providence, RI. Rhonda Ann was cared for by foster family in Narragansett, RI until placed for adoption with the Gebhart family in ?-?-1967. I was born at St. Josephs Hospital. The records talk a lot about her...she has brown hair and brown eyes, easy to talk to (the description of her is amazingly very much like how I would think someone would also describe me even to the point of her interests and the course of her life at the time), 5'4" (Im 5'3" tall) DOB: Winter of ?-?-1947 She lived in Providence with her grandparents and she was one of seven children. The family had to go on welfare, her grandfather had a mechanic business at one time. His surname was of scandinavian origin. My birthfather was Italian (he must have had light colored eyes because mine are not brown lol), he was discharged from the Marines with a plate in his head from time served in the Korean war. She was 17/18 at the time I was born and could not immediately release her rights (I can only imagine having to go thru that in 65'), anyway, eventually she realized that the father was not going to marry her and she was able to sign the paperwork almost a year later. I was cared for by a foster family in Narragansett. My adoptive mother Edith Gebhart was a teacher at the school and somehow the foster family had a child in her class and the foster family knew of the new adoptive family which was not supposed to happen. My mother and father both say that they dont remember anything I found a note from the foster mother that she gave to my mom telling her all about "rhonda" and what she liked to eat and how she liked to be outside in the mornings, etc. It was so amazing to read knowing that she made it known in the records that she wanted to adopt me too but that was just not done at that time. There is also a mention in the record of a little boy coming up to our house in Narragansett (Angel Street?) he brought my adoptive mother a candy bar and asked if she would give it to Rhonda. The social worker made a note of it in the record.. My mother does recall this sometimes she lets on that she knows things and sometimes she just doesnt I don't want to make her feel uncomfortable it was a very different time then and as you know outsiders (which is what my mother and father were) are never really totally accepted as Islanders you know. she didnt want to do anything to lose me and so even now she is protective of that. on and on its very cool to read the story anyway, yes. I think it is a good chance she is still in RI. perhaps even providence.

(Update) Birth mother was 22 years old and according to my pre adoption vital records, which I just got today, she had 2 other children prior to me. I am 5'9" tall, with brown eyes and brown hair. (Update) My birth mother and birth father have both been found, and although I'm still searching for my older birth siblings, I'm currently awaiting a response from both! **** I was born in Saint Joseph's Hospital in Providence Rhode Island on 2-7-1967 as Michael Edward Snead. Six months before I was born, my birth mother Mary Ann Snead, walked into the local Diocesan Bureau of Social Services on 9-29-1966 "independent of referral", due to "past contact with the Agency", and gave me up for adoption. Ten years before Rhode Island law was changed allowing adoptees access to their OBC, I learned what the past contact was. Two other children born prior. Both given up for adoption. A total of three birth siblings sharing the same fate. Three souls separated by adoption, yet sharing DNA. My two older birth siblings don't know I exist, and at best know half-truths about the existence of each other. I was told one was adopted by a family from Delaware, and the other was adopted by a family from either Maryland or Virginia. Although my OBC finally confirmed their existence, my older birth siblings names, genders, and whereabouts still remain a mystery. Aside from chronic lifelong hypertension, (which nearly disqualified an enlistment in the military) I'm healthy, and well. In the same tradition as my adopted father, I enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. I served proudly from 1984 until my honorable discharge after operation Desert Storm in 1992. Although my search may be half over, my lifelong search for my birth siblings is not. It truly gives me hope, and provides inspiration, seeing and reading about the life-changing reunions of so many wonderfully courageous people! Christopher Barry Sears.

My mom spent some time in Powers Lake North Dakota, Mandan North Dakota & Fargo North Dakota, before going to providence as well before Providence & also some time in Minneapolis, Minnesota. But I'm pretty sure she had my brother in the Lying-In Hospital in Providence if I remember correctly. Also, the man that was the father of Joshua was a different man than my birth father, James Jorgenson. I guess the man that made Joshua's short life possible had a drug problem as well. I don't know if that would help you in your search or not. I am low income & do not have the resources to search for Joshua any other way. so finding your site was a really nice surprise. Irrespective of how strange this request may seem... I need something real to symbolize my brother to me... something tangible... the more information you could uncover regarding him, the better. Even if there's a picture of him somewhere of him not even alive, the picture would still mean a great deal to me. I don't think they had a way of photographing inside the womb back then. But if you could go the extra mile to find all there is to find regarding Joshua, it would mean the world to me.

Biological Grandmother (Karen's mother). Avis W. Grunstra. full brother, Raymond Thomas Grunstra, biological father Raymond T. Mignogna lives in Newport, R.I. Raymond, Jr. has a half brother in Newport also. (We, Avis and Jim Grunstra adopted Raymond T. Grunstra, when a young boy.) His name was Raymond Thomas Mignogna, Jr. Now Raymond Thomas Grunstra Karen married Raymond Mignogna after giving Dennis up for adoption. Then Raymond Thomas, Jr. Mignogna (Grunstra) was born. Karen and Raymond were married when Raymond was born. I am Dennis Alan Grunstra's biological grandmother, 81 years old, and desperately wanting to find Dennis so I can meet him before I am deceased and also for finding him for Raymond's benefit as his full biological brother. Raymond Thomas Grunstra is now 37 years old. Karen Elaine Grunstra, Raymond and Dennis' biological mother was married to Bill Newkirk and passed away on 12-27-1993, so her name on the crypt is Karen Elaine Newkirk buried in Curlew Memory Garden in Palm Harbor, Florida.
