All Other Information: Recently did Ancestry DNA, found out my family who raised me is not my DNA family. Family who raised me was in the US military and stationed in Upper Austria when I was born. My birth certificate is an Austrian certificate and when I was 16 years old, I had to apply for US citizenship as we moved to the US when I was 2. Parents who raised me stated it was an accident because a form didn’t get signed correctly so I was assigned an Austrian birth certificate instead of US birth certificate. Also my Austrian birth certificate is stamped and dated 10-31-1952- 7 months after my birth. Certificate only states my name and birth date. It does not show the name of hospital, dr. or any birth parents. Adoptive mother was 40 years old when I was born, adoptive father was 39 years old and a master sgt in the US Army when I was born. I have uploaded my DNA to Ancestry, and GED match. From what I have learned from my DNA matches on Ancestry, my birth fathers last name is Overton. There were a few Overton brothers in the US military stationed in Germany / Austria around the time of my conception. I have 5 1st cousins through these Overton brothers and I have narrowed it down but cannot pinpoint who the actual birth father is as the brothers came from a family of 12 siblings. So it is believed that possibly one these brothers impregnated my birth mother in Austria or prior to her going to Austria. It was also suggested she could have been a US citizen in the Woman’s Army Corp and given birth to me there. When I check my matches on Ancestry using the map-I only have one match on the whole continent of Europe and it is a 4-5 cousin. Which told! me birth mother may not have been originally from Austria. In 1952 why would a US woman be in Austria / Germany other than to aid in post war ?. My contact person Dawn is my daughter in law and I give her full permission to act on my behalf. I am not very computer savvy and she has helped me with all the research thus far and has all the research.
