All Other Information: Searching for my older birth brother Chong Dae Kim. He left home when he was only 7 years old. My father received a message that a military man adopted my brother in 1969 and was in the United States. Our mother was Japanese, father is Korean. Our mother died when we were young children. We lived in Eumseong North Chungcheong, South Korea. I was called Young Sun Kim by my mother, my father named me Chong On Kim. I have been looking for my older birth brother for a very long time and hoping to find him soon. All Other Information: I lived with my parents (unmarried) until I was about 2 years old. Father was a soldier in the US Army. When I was 2.5 my father went back to the US. My mother tried to retain custody but could not support me, and eventually gave me up for adoption when I was 9 years old. I was adopted into a very abusive home and had no contact with adoptive parents after age 17. I have been reunited with my Korean birth mother for about 15 years My birth mother refuses to help me search, and I am not sure how accurate what she has told me is, but here goes: Birth father's last name was Garcia he was from California. Was also involved with another Korean woman, brought her back to US and maybe they had a daughter. Returned to Korea in 1976 seeking custody of me but birth mother refused. Recently, I did a 23andme DNA test, and had some promising leads. I am part Native American, and many of the "matches" that showed up were from the Southwestern US. I had one 2nd cousin match (Michael Neri b. 1990) and quite a few 3rd to 4th cousin matches. (Chavez, Torres) One of the 3rd to 4th cousin matches was kind enough to share her Ancestry.com family tree, and there are Garcias in her extended family. The 2nd cousin match is from California, but he has not responded to requests for information. Non-identifying info from adoption records from 2-6-1980 Mr. ******, 38 years old, was an US Army Professional soldier, who had stationed in Korea until 4-?-1972. An American of Caucasian background. Mrs. ****** remembers that he was of tall height and built man who had fair complexion, dark brown hair and was quite healthy. My birth mother was employed for a UN club entertaining foreign soldiers as a waitress. She came there for delivery at around 7:00 p.m. on 1-30-1984, gave birth to her baby, explained her circumstances to be unable to bring it up at all, and then cordially asked its adoption to a stable' family. By her request, Kim Maternity Home called this Agency Pusan branch next day, and then this Agency branch Intake worker fetched it to this Agency for its future.¢?. After temporary care at a foster home of this Agency Pusan branch foster home: until 2-10-1984, she was transferred to Seoul Angel Babies' Home. She was placed to the present foster home on 2-13-1984. Foster mother is Mrs. Ahn, Seok Shim who cherishes her dearly. I met Mrs. Ahn, Seok Shim during my visit to Korea this past November.
