All Other Information: I’m searching for my half birth brother that my mom gave up for adoption. Her maiden name was Askins and he was born in 1970 or 1971 ?. I think was born at Donaldson Hospital in Fayetteville, Tennessee. But my aunt said he could also have been born at Lincoln County Hospital in Fayetteville Tennessee. My mother won’t even discuss this with my sister and I, so it’s hard to get exact details. I was told she gave him her maiden name (Askins) , on the birth certificate. I was also told he had red hair like me.

All Other Information: A baby my aunt said her Dr. adopted at Vanderbilt Hospital in Nashville during the spring (March-May of 1970). My aunt on her deathbed said she had a baby at Vanderbilt on 4-3-1970. Previously the family thought the baby died, but there was no grave, no funeral, etc. It was all very nebulous. But before my aunt died, she said her ob-gyn agreed to adopt the baby, who she said was named Ann. She said her ob was a Dr. Crook. Not sure if it's possible to see a coroner's record related to my aunt and a possible dead baby, but I suspect this is an under table adoption. I've done my own research and found a Dr. that matched her specs. Ironically (or not) he only had one child -- a daughter named Ann! She was born during the right timeframe -- Spring 1970 -- at Vanderbilt Hospital, where my aunt was. The Ann I found -- (On File) -- has a birthday on 4-3-1970. In addition, she does have some family resemblance and it's not a stretch to think I have the right person. What I'm really trying to find out before I approach Ann is whether there's an adoption record in Nashville for my aunt and / or whether there's a record of her having a stillborn baby, which she originally claimed but then retracted on her death bed.

All Other Information: My birth mother was originally from Knoxville, but was a college student in the Nashville area; she was in her early 20's. My birth mother was an adoptee, but I do not have any information regarding her circumstances. I was told that my birth mother had a drug problem, I was believed to have been abused as a child, and was made a Ward of the State in 1972; I believe I was around 6 months of age. My birth father was younger than my birth mother. I have no knowledge of ethnicity. I am white, 5 ft 3 in tall, brown hair and dark brown eyes. My adoptive parents are both white they also adopted my brother who was from another family in Knoxville. My adoptive father was a Contractor (residential). I was sick much of my childhood with chronic bronchitis and may have suffered this as an infant. I have tested positive for the anti-nuclear antibody (ANI), which is the pre-cursor for Lupus; however, I have not been diagnosed as having Lupus.

Birth father was not present at time of birth, only the birth mother and birth grandmother were present; closed adoption. Birth Father's name was not on the birth certificate; We are related paternally; Also registered on adoption.com The adoption record has been located by the State of TN. They could not release info to me because our father's name was not on the birth certificate, therefore they could not prove I was biologically related to the adoptee. (Update) The birth father has blue eyes and brown hair. No other info on birth mother. DNA testing has been done with Ancestry.
