His brother Ralph Herbert Norton (also adopted by Norton family) was born 8-2-1900 in Kent, and died 5-14-1975. No one spoke of his adoption until after his death. Richard Hannifan is known to have a twin sister, Mary Hubert. She found my husband’s father and visited his family when he was young. They called her Aunt Mary, but my husband did not know how she was related. She lived near Springfield, Massachusetts. Richard has a sister Josephine Hannifan Fenn. Also a brother listed as Jerry Hannifan (probably Jeremiah). My husband has no memory of Jerry. He does know Josephine Fenn. There was a story that was relayed that the birth mother was from a wealthy Irish family from southern Connecticut, that became pregnant out of wedlock. All Other Information: Gordon Totire is Gregorio Totire (teachers changed his name upon entering school. Gordon is alive and 90 years old trying to find any information about his birth family. We have a record from New Haven Orphan Asylum dated 1-26-1922 saying legal papers would be released to Mr. Antonio Totire upon payment. Using Ancestry.com, we have found a DeVito family living in New Haven, Connecticut in ?-?-1900 - Father is Joseph DeVito, Mother is Celia DeVito. They have four children - Antoinette, Victor, George and Albert. Albert is one month old at the 1-?-1920 census taking which is correct for Gordon's birth date of 12-1-1919. In the ?-?-1930 census we find siblings - Antoinette, Victor and "Guido" living in New York (I believe) with father - Joseph Eacone and Mother "Elsie". we wonder if maybe Joseph DeVito died in New Haven. (Update) He was born Albert DeVito on 12-1-1919 at home (107 Franklin Street) in New Haven, CT. He is the son of Joseph DeVito - this is what we suspected from the 1920 Census. the census lists his mother as "Celia" DeVito. Maiden name of his mother on his birth certificate is extremely difficult to read. Right now we would like to concentrate on the siblings listed on the 1920 census Antonette, Victor and George who we later find in the 1930 census living in Brooklyn Kings, New York with Joseph and Elsie Eacone. (George is listed as "Guido" in 1930 but we believe they are the same children. Birth years match up and both census' show that of the three children only Victor is born in Italy.

All Other Information: I am searching for the birth parents of my mother. Her maiden name was Elizabeth Ann Wilson. Her married name was Elizabeth Wilson Peach. She was the foster child of James and Helen Wilson, who lived at 354 Laurel Street in Hartford, CT. (Update) My mother, Elizabeth Ann Wilson, had blue eyes and brown hair. To the best of my knowledge she was born in 6-6-1920. We celebrated her birthday on 6-6-1920, but my sister once heard our father say that was not her real birthday. In the 1930 Census she was listed as 9 years old and as a niece of James A. Wilson and his wife Helen (Nellie O'Brien). It listed my mother as having been born in Connecticut and her parents as having been born in Connecticut, but both Mr. and Mrs. Wilson were listed as having been born in Massachusetts. In the 1940 Census she was listed as 19 years old and as the daughter of the Wilsons. But according to both my mother and father she was a foster child and never officially adopted.

We know that baby was taken in by Mr and Mrs Clifford close to her birth but census records do not show Margaret with this couple at the 1940 census. Margaret Louise Stenger is the illegitimate child of Elizabeth Meyer(s) Stenger. Elizabeth gave birth at the age of 14 and was forced to give Margaret up. All Other Information: LeRoy had 6 birth siblings by his birth mother. I have found some information on all of them but LeRoy. LeRoys Birth information may have been changed as the birth father denied being his birth father. Information could have been changed go Charles Hallock being the birth father and his last name could have been changed to Butler. His birth mother’s 2 oldest children born Charles A. Booth and Curtis Gordon Booth were put into foster care on 7-?-1934 and both last names were changed to Butler. He has 2 siblings Ira VanScoy and Jerome VanScoy that were also denied by their birth father however Ira VanScoy kept his original last name but Jerome was put into foster care and his last name was changed to Butler. Their birth mother had a 6th child with her second husband who was never put into the system and died 6 months after the 6th child was born in 1941. I am looking for any information on LeRoy. He is my grandfather's brother (my grandfather is Ethels oldest son, Charles A. Butler). I am not sure if LeRoy was adopted but I do know at least one of my grandfather's brothers were adopted and LeRoy is the only one I cannot find information on after initial court records from 1934. Side note, it is possible that Charles E. Hallock (45 at the time of birth of LeRoy) is LeRoys biological father but Carroll is the one listed in court records, police records, and state records I can find. Birth mother was 24 years old at time of birth. Birth father was 34 years old. Birth mother went in jail when he was about 5 months old, birth father soon after (different instances). Birth parents eyes and hair color. Unknown but my guess is blue eyes and brown hair. I have DNA testing through Ancestry and 23 and me and my father has it through Ancestry. LeRoy would be my great uncle, my father's uncle.

All Other Information: My brother is trying to find information about his birth father, William Mullen. My brother thinks the man's full name is William Peter Mullen, Jr., but doesn't know for certain. My mother, Virginia Mae Phipps, was married, we think, in late 1942 or early 1943 to a man named William Peter Mullen. My brother, Pete, was born on 9-13-1944. My mother never saw Mullen after he returned from WW2, although he did use my grandparents' address on Grovers Ave in Bridgeport. Mullen graduated from Upsala University (?) in New Jersey circa 1942. He was commissioned in the US Navy upon graduation. He may have moved to Detroit after returning to CT from WW2. When my mother married my father circa 1947, my father, Ralph Emery Decker, adopted my brother Pete, whose name was William Peter Mullen. They couldn't afford to legally change Pete's name from William Peter Mullen. My parents just started calling my brother Peter Brennan Decker and that has been his name. Pete has searched census and military records, but after Mullen left the Navy, there has been no trace of him. He is wondering if his adoption papers might provide additional information on his birth father.

She struggled considerably with this decision but eventually felt that she had no other choices as her parents supported the plan of adoption. Your birth mother wanted her parents to adopt you, but she was advised by a physician to make an adoption plan with non-relatives. She felt that she had to protect her father, who ran a business in their neighborhood. Your birth father did not know about mother's pregnancy until after an adoption plan was made. He was conflicted about the plan, but felt that he could accept it if it was birth mother's decision. He was concerned that people would think he was like his father (who had left the family) and he really wanted to do the right and proper thing by supporting the birth mother. Maternal grandparents did not approve of birth father and did not support marriage plans. You were placed with the Shetland family on 6-24-1952. Your adoption by the Shetland's was finalized on 9-4-1953 in Norwich Probate Court. Your birth mother was born in ?-?-1937 in New Haven, CT. She was the oldest of four children. She was described as a happy, well-adjusted girl, who was often quiet. She was said to be a good student and was in her junior year of high school. She was particularly interested in sewing. All Other Information: My father Edgar Wilcox Hunnicutt gave me this information before he died. He was age 30 years old and the girl was 19 years old and worked in his office in Chicago, IL. She may have been from Michigan or Minnesota. He said he impregnated her Thanksgiving 1954 at her parent's home. He was separated from my mother at the time. Her first name has a strange spelling which she insisted upon, Velreen. I'm not sure of date of birth, but, my full sister was born 8-2-1955, (conceived just before Christmas) born about 7 weeks premature, different mother. The story goes that when my father found out my mother was pregnant he went back to her in Connecticut and resumed the marriage. However, he had also impregnated Velreen. He sent for Velreen to finish out her pregnancy at his mother's house in West Hartford, CT. She delivered within two weeks of my mother because the nurses recognized my father as having been in two weeks before. I also understand my mother found out by seeing the announcement in the newspaper. There were two papers at the time, the Hartford Courant and the Hartford Times. I am not sure which baby came first but it would seem the middle of August would be more appropriate for a Thanksgiving conception. One time when asked he said the adoption was "open" in that if the boy ever wanted to get in touch with him he could have, but, he never did. If this was true he may not have kept up his recent addresses as he moved a lot. My mother's name at the time was Natalie Ruth (nee Akehurst) Hunnicutt and lived on Bridlepath Rd. West Hartford, Connecticut at the time of birth. I'm not sure of the name of the adoption agency, but, it had a blue roof, was called the "orphanage" and was on Prospect and Albany Ave. Hartford. My father's YDNA is posted on YSEARCH.com. He was tested to 67 markers with FTDNA before he died. It is located on FTDNA.com under the Honeycutt project. I am a family historian and have a wealth of information on the Hunnicutt family back to the 1700s. My father had some medical problems. He died from complications from a stroke 1-?-2009 in Connecticut. He and his brother had all girls. The name, Hunnicutt has died, but, I know he has a son, somewhere. Once he said in Rhode Island, but, I don't know if he really knew that. I would love to meet my brother some day, but, the Connecticut laws have become so very restrictive I don't know where to start. Thank you so much. You all must be angels.

All Other Information: I am looking for my birth parents. I don't know a lot except that I was born at Hartford Hospital and placed with Children's Services of Connecticut 1680 Albany Av. Hartford, CT. 6-17-1958 I was 6 lbs 10 oz.and 18 1/2 inches long. I believe I was in a foster home because I have a paper stating a schedule of me from when I woke up in the morning till I went to bed at night. A geneologist recent found me and she had put me in touch with a Verna Keeler's family in Brookefield, CT. I spoke to Verna's sister and Verna had passed away. The geneologist thought that Verna was my birth mother but when I talked to the sister she said that Verna did not have a baby put up for adoption. My adoptive parents died some time ago but I thought I did remember that she told me that my birth mother she thought was 17 when she got pregnant with me. I have a letter from Children's services dated 9-10-1958 stating that they had a baby girl 3 months old that they thought my adoptive parents might be interested in. My adoptive parents were living in Waterford, CT. at that time.I also have a stamped paper from the probate court with the final decree with my adoption stamped 8-5-1959. I know that I do not have much but I feel so lost and would like to know about my birth parents, medical history and possible siblings. (Update) I paid to get my ID information from the adoption agency in Connecticut. When Verna's sister said that Verna did not put a baby up for adoption. I now know that Verna did put a baby girl named Deborah Lee Keeler up for adoption. I have all the information I now need to prove that I am who I thought I was. Also a woman contacted me that lives in Connecticut and she did alot of foot work searching for me there in Danbury and Brookfield, CT. and she has told me 100% that Verna Keeler did have a baby 6-12-1958 and put her up for adoption. She lived at home (this is what my ID information says) until she started to show. (Her Father (my mgf) did not know she was pregnant, so her mother (my mgm) took Verna to live with a married sister until the 8th month and then she lived in a maternity home until she went into labor and then went to the hospital and had me. When I spoke to Judy the first time she admitted to me that there was a time when Verna was not living at home and was at a married sister's house. She also told me alot of things about her family that is in my records. By the time Judy contacted me again she changed her story and I saw what was going on. I was a secret to alot of the sisters but not to all of them. From what it seems is that Verna may have lived with Wanda. So, some of the sisters do know about this but maybe not all of them. I know for a fact that Verna did not graduate from Danbury high school but went back to school after having me. I wish that I would have started searching while Verna was alive. There is a lot more to this story. I wish someone would contact me so I may know about my birth family.

Dr. Ferguson at Meriden hospital was the delivery Dr. At 48 years old my adoptive mother passed and I found she was not my birth mother. The city of Meriden has said they have a George Erwin born on 6-14-1958 without a father’s name listed and that Dr. Ferguson is the delivery dr. but without birth mothers maiden name I have no right to the birth paper. All Other Information: I have a twin sister who was adopted with me. We contacted Catholic Families 30 years ago and also got the non-identifying information at that time. Little information was on the agency's paperwork. Only that we have a half birth sibling who was 2 1/2 years old at the time of our birth. No information given on the birth father. Apparently when he was informed of the pregnancy he was not supportive and left. The same woman who handled our adoption was there when we went in search of information. She absolutely remembered us because twins were quite rare in 1959. She told us that it was a hard decision for my birth mother to make-especially since she had a young son (different birth father). She was from a supportive Irish Catholic family-but twins proved too overwhelming and she decided to give us up. I have hired (and paid a lot of money) to several search agencies. One did find out my birth mother's name: Marie House. After that I was informed that it appears she "fell off the face of the earth". I was very discouraged and stopped the search for a while. I am so hopeful that you can help me. (Update) I am 5'8" tall and large framed. However, my twin sister is petite--she is only 5'5" tall and slim framed. We both have hazel eyes and dirty blonde hair. I believe birth mother was around 24 years old, with reddish hair, larger frame, and was from an Irish background / close knit family.
