The story told to my grandmother, Ruth Pauline Ball, is that her adoptive sister (in her 20's at the time) told Scott and Sarah Ball that there was a baby in town for adoption. She states she was in Topeka, Kansas, and at the Crittendon Home for unwed mothers. Before coming to Topeka, she lived in Iola and Fort Scott. Her mothers name was Nellie Francis Harvey-Williams, and her father’s name was Louis John Williams. My grandmother, Nellie Louise, was born on 1-21-1913. All Other Information: My mother, Kay Brinkman (maiden) Laird who is 67, was just looking at her birth certificate. She is the eldest child of two. However, on the certificate, it states that her mother said she had 1 other live child at the time of my mother's birth. As my mother and I discussed this, both her parents are deceased, we realized that her parents very may well have had a child out of wedlock because her mother quit the University of Kansas with only 1 semester left because her "knees hurt." My mother would love to see if there is any registry of Maxine Gooch having a baby in Kansas. The four top locations would probably be: Wichita, Ft. Scott (Bourbon County), Lawrence or Kansas City. My mother's name is Kay Brinkman. Her mother's name was Maxine Gooch Brinkman, born to William Sanford Gooch and Laura Grace Buckner in Mapleton, Kansas. The Gooches lived most of their lives in Ft. Scott, where William Sanford Gooch was a physician. The potential year of birth of baby Gooch would have been early 1930's, and probably in the last 6 months of 1932 or 1933. All Other Information: Mary was a junior in HS when she had this child and gave it up for adoption. Not sure of the sex of the child. But heard at one time it was a girl ?. Mary's parents were Drew & Goldie Dobosh. I think in 1930 Goldie was in Dodge City KS, county was Ford, in 1910 in Valley KS, Rice county. So it's hard to say where and when she married Drew Dobosh and where Mary was born or where they resideded and were Mary went to HS. Drew & Goldie Dobosh also adopted Mary. I am not sure how old she was when they adopted her.

My birth mother was born in ?-?-1938 in Parsons, Kansas, making her 21 years old when I was born. Her address at that time was 304 N. 4th, Independence, Kansas as listed on my pre-adoption birth certificate. It also indicates that there was 1 other child living at the time of my birth. From the time that I was small, I was told the story of my adoption and was told the other child was a boy and that he was about 4 years old. All Other Information: (Update) I am a Kansas City, Kansas white female, born on or before 7-10-1959. I haven't any information on my birth parents date of birth, color of eyes, hair, or their height. How ever I am told I am a twin. We were split up shortly after birth. My height is 5'7 1/2'' tall with hazel eyes and dishwater blonde hair turning white. My DNA, from ancestry, reveals my parents are as: Parent 1 from England, Netherlands, Iceland, and Wales. Parent 2 is from England and Scotland. I am 74% England, 10% Netherlands, 8% Scotland, 5% Wales, and 3% Iceland. I also did a DNA from 23and me. It revealed that both parents has hemochromatosis. I am a carrier. In 10-?-2018, I am told that I was given away by my birth dad (possibly name Roy Brown or Browne)at the hospital to the parents Boyd S. Huntington Sr and Betty (Podrouzek) Huntington, who raised me and named me. My birth dad gave me away saying " we believe God gave us twins. One to keep and one to give away. Here is your baby girl." The mother whi received me asked what my name was and my birth dad said "name her whatever you like". My Birth certificate verified I was either given away or adopted. I am searching for anyone with information about my birth family.
