All Other Information: My birth son was born in Des Moines, IA. I think the birth date is 1-20-1970. Not sure of day but know it was 1-?-1970. Baby was taken from me immediately at birth. I was at a home for unwed mothers ran by Salvation Army and am almost sure birth was at Lutheran hospital but not sure. I don't know where to start to look. I was 17 years old and raised Catholic so I am almost sure my parents would of made sure my birth son was adopted into a Catholic family. My older sister remembers being at the hospital and the baby being brought into the room for me to hold and then taken away. I do not remember anything.

All Other Information: (Update) non-identifying info from last year. It states a normal birth at 12:35 a.m. 0n 2-18-1970. Birth mother was a pretty girl of Polish ancestry. She was 5'0" tall and weighed 108lbs. Reddish-brown hair and dark brown eyes. Cancer on her father's side. Birth father had dark hair and eyes and was 5'8" tall and 140 lbs. Medium complexion. Cancer and diabetes on his mothers side. That's all the info we have. It's unknown if they were married. Scott has dark brown eyes and brown hair. He is 5'8" tall. The adoption was done through a lawyer (adoptive parents can't seem to remember his name). He was picked up at birth from Mercy Hospital in Des Moines, IA. The adoptive parents requested a Jewish baby, lawyer was probably Jewish. It is unknown if they actually got a Jewish baby. Nowhere in the non-identifying info is there mention of religion. The letter is from Judge Pille from the Polk County Courthouse.

Single birth mother was raising two birth daughters and chose to give her baby up for adoption as it was a chance for a better life for the baby. Birth mother died of cancer at an early age. The girls found no paper work of any kind in her possessions. The birth mother came from a broken home, she, her older brother, and three younger siblings were given up for adoption in Oregon. The two oldest were raised by our grandparents in Iowa. Her older brother passed away but the three others were finally reunited just last year - it had been over 60 years since being place in an orphanage. The girls would like very much to meet their birth brother.

All Other Information: I know my birth mother was 19 years old attending Iowa State, 5'8" tall, and 160 pounds with red-blonde hair and green eyes. She briefly dated the putative father, but didn't tell him of the situation as they ended the short relationship right as she realized she was pregnant. He was 5'10" tall, with a medium build and dark hair and eyes. I was born 10-21-1971 at 6 lbs. 9 oz. and 19" long and the APGAR was 10. I completed a Mutual Consent Voluntary Adoption Registry Application with the State of Iowa Department of Public Health in 5-?-2003 but there was not a match at that time. I have communications from the Story County Department of Social Services as well as from the Law Offices of Pasley, Singer, Seiser & Pasley in Ames, Iowa with respect to my adoption that I can share with my search angel. I know the attorney's office has my original birth certificate on file as I called them in ?-?-2003 so they have access to birth mother's name. I have a copy of the decree for my adoption as well.

All Other Information: I gave my daughter up for adoption because I was single and wanted her to be able to have 2 loving and caring parents rather than a single mother in time that unwed mothers were not accepted and neither were the children.Adoptee has a half sister that has had medical problems that the adoptee might want to know about for her own medical history and for her children. I, as her biological mother, lived in Anamosa, IA at the time of her birth. Her biological father also lived in rural Jones County. Her natural father suffered with asthma - natural mother has no real huge medical problems other than keeping her weight down. I elected not to know who was adopting my baby because I knew myself well enough to know that I would end up wanting to become a part of her life. I knew that wasn't going to be possible and still be fair to my daughter and her parents. I would love to find her and to see how she is doing today, to find out if she may be interested in meeting either myself or her half sister, but most importantly to find out if my decision of 1973 was a good decision.
