All Other Information: Girl baby born in Portland to very young birth mother, not married, baby adopted out. Birth mother and birth father of baby were born and raised in Washington State. The only lapse in her education was in 1934. A few years later Mildred worked for Dr. Paul Carter in Portland, Oregon helping around the house. This may not be connected, but to me looks like a possible connection to the birth. Helping two friends looking for half birth sister. They have had DNA and I recommended putting them on ancestry. The two gentlemen are not related to each other, one is the son of the birth mother and the other is the son of the birth father. (Update) Birth mother was 5’6” or 5’7” tall, with brown eyes and brown hair. Birth father was about 5’11” tall, with blue eyes and light brown hair. We believe the birth mother was between the ages of 15 and 16 years old. The birth father was a year older than Mildred.

I did not know I had a twin but found her in 2006. I have been searching for 50 years, way before computers. I knew of 4 children - now we total 15, I have concrete proof of each birth to birth mother. She died in 1979 in Billing's, Mt. She lived with me the last 5 months of her life. I had no idea of other children, I knew nothing of her life. I have found 11 birth sibling's and believe that there are 3 to 6 more. I never knew where she was born until she died. She came from a very small town in IL. called Rosebud. She left Rosebud with her mother at a young age. I know nothing about her whereabouts from 1928 in Danville, IL. to my birth in Seattle WA. 1944. So far half of her children were born in WA. The remaining birth sibling's from 1950 on were born in CA. AR. and ? In 1950 she left WA. and went to So. Cal. I'm also looking in 1952, 1957 through 1962, 1967, 1971. Many of her children were born 11 months apart. She was married 8 times that I have proof of, but she used many last names. All Other Information: My dad was born in ?-?-1950 in Portland, OR. His mother Doris Jean Harper died a day later from polio. Doris had a 2 year old Linda Jean Harper. Both kids were adopted to different families. There was an article in The Oregonian about Doris giving birth with polio 10-26-1950. Possible addresses could be 140 SE 81st Ave, Portland, OR, or 726 SE Ash St, Portland, OR. The article says Linda Jean went with a sister in law, but I've been told by birth cousins that neighbors adopted her and moved to the Medford, OR area. The new father may have worked in the agriculture industry. Linda Jean may have gone to school for nursing. Obviously some family member kept in contact with the adoptive parents, but they have all passed. Doris and her husband came to Oregon from Lafayette, IN sometime in the late 40s. After Doris' death, her husband Francis "Johnnie" Harper went back to Indiana without his kids. He was most likely murdered by drowning in the Wabash River in 1960. Doris had three brothers that came to Oregon as well. Jack Fall Foster, Thomas Ace Foster, and William Foster. Jack and Thomas are buried at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland. They did not get Linda. I got Thomas' death certificate which led me to his niece, Karla Foster (my dad's cousin) who told me everything that I know. She just remembers the stories being told as a child. She didn't know Doris or Linda, she was too young. (Update) Birth mother was 23 years old at time of birth. Birth father was 26 years old. My dad was 5'9" tall, with blue eyes and brown hair.

All Other Information: My name is Hunter Decker (21 years old) and I am the son of Hunt Decker (my Dad). My Dad was born on 8-8-1950 in Portland, OR. His adopted parents were William and Lucille Decker. My Dad currently lives in Tucson, AZ with my stepmother. He has told me that he has tried to find out who his birth parents are and all he could come up with is that he thinks is Birth Mothers name is Evelin Singer. He called all the Evelin Signers with no luck and has given up the search. I really really want to know what my genealogy is and if my grandparents have any medical problems I should know about. Also to find my birth fathers biological father would be wonderful. The birth mothers doctor had made adoption arrangements but the family declined after the baby was born and determined to be "decidedly negro". I am told his birth father was a Black and Native American logger in Oregon born in the ?-?-1920's and that the birth mother was born in ?-?-1922 of Irish, English and French descent. She briefly worked as a taxidermist helper. Described as attractive 5'5" tall, 140 lbs. with neatly styled chestnut hair. Her parents were from California and her dad died when she was 13 years old. Her mother and grandmother had criminal records and she and her sister were placed with the state of Oregon and then in several placement homes. Her sister was two years younger. The birth mother got married in ?-?-1941 and had 3 children. two girls born in ?-?-1942 and ?-?-1946 and a boy in ?-?-1944. There was also another son who died as a child in ?-?-1947. The kids were taken into foster care and returned to the birth mother when the birth father returned from war. My birth father was born in ?-?-1950 then two girls ?-?-1957 and ?-?-1959 none of whom had her husband as the birth father so I believe they were given up for adoption as well.

All Other Information: Marie is unsure of the year could be 1955. (Update) My mother’s name was Millie Ruth Brooks, d.o.b. was 3-29-1939 in Hood River, Oregon. Her mother’s name was Zada Haley Arizona Brooks (who also had two girls placed in the Oregon adoption systems). Her father’s name was Homer Brooks…that is what is listed on her birth certificate. She spoke of being placed in foster care system and being groped at a young age, passing around from one foster care home to another-- around age 14 years old—she said they mover her to a ‘warehousing’ with rooms with 4 mattresses on the floor in a room and that they were co-ed. I believe this was in the Portland area. She spoke of getting pregnant twice before age 18 years old within the system. Once with a set of twins, and another a little girl. She only spoke to me about this when she was in her late 40’s early 50’s. From this upbringing ---she carried with her a lifelong self-hate about knowing (babies) and that they (the state systems) Told her that the babies had been still born. At the little girls birth, she said she seen and heard the little girl cry and saw dark brown hair, curling up at the back of the neck with long white fingernails. All of her babies were taken away immediately after birth. She believed that the foster care system took the babies and placed them up for adoption—the girl she thought might have been adopted by one her the foster families. She said the twins were born early. She also said that one of the births were in July—(7-18-?)…I remember this specifically because it is my father’s birthday month. She later aged out of the system and went to Hood River where she married Richard Allen Dunn. She had a lifelong problems with mental health and alcoholism struggling with what had happened to her in the system—refusing to speak about it. She was 5’3” tall, with large brown oval eyes, and thick ‘horse hair’ reddish, brown hair---wide face. Her mother was 5’3” tall, with hazel, blue eyes and small built. I tried to use the Oregon birth records and paid to send the information in to find her records of birth records. The state took the money and later sent me a letter telling me that due to identity fraud—they could Not process the forms as I did not have enough information on it to process. Then the state added a timeline to find the information to send in. I couldn’t find any information to add and the request went void. My quest was stopped there until I ran across an article on the baby mills / state systems of White Swan / White Hall and thought I would try again. I did not know which site to trust. (Update) I am 5'4" tall, with brown eyes and brown hair.
