My eyes are hazel and my hair is dark brown and wavy/curly. I have registered at ISRR and ALMA and I have a facebook page here: http://www.facebook.com/seekingbirthparents I have no official non identifying information. My adoptive mother thinks my birth mother may have been an American. I am the adoptee - I am seeking any birth family but specifically my birth mother. The adoption was privately arranged, and not through an agency of any kind. The OB-GYN who organized the adoption was a Dr. Orr. He has been dead for something like 20 years now. I do not have access to the hospital records. I understand that I will have to petition the court to unseal my records - I am presently seeking recommendations for a lawyer in Nassau who may be interested in this kind of work. The lawyer who filed the adoption papers was named Henderson. I hear that his son, Mark Henderson, still lives in Nassau. My adoptive mother said that she received me from the hospital with a bracelet with my birth mother's last name on it, but that she discarded the bracelet. She says that she remembers that it was a name that "could have been a man's last name or a man's first name." She also had the impression that my birth mother was college-aged, so she would be in the 55-60 age range now, mostly likely 56 or 57 (as of July 2011). I have been DNA tested and my mitochondrial DNA indicates that I have Native American or Latin American ancestry on my mother's side, probably a great-grandmother. I would like to find out more about this.
