All Other Information: My name is Elisabeth Weaver. I am searching for information on the birth of my mother 2-8-1940. She is now deceased. The following is all the information I have. Most of this came from an inquiry I made to the Children's Home Society of NC. Baby girl born in Charlotte, or possibly Greensboro, NC. approximately 3 lbs at birth. Born with small amount of Cerebral Palsy. Right arm and right leg were affected. Birth mother was 33 years old, approx. 5'7" tall, violet eyes. Father was a minister and mom was a homemaker, I believe. I'm not sure but there were at least two sisters and one older brother. Brother was 40 years old at the time of the birth. He was also a Dr.Birth father: the only information is he was approx. 40 years old and may have a father that was also a minister in the same area as birth mother. Adoptive parents: Father was a Dr., eye ear nose and throat practicing in Goldsboro, NC. Was 59-60 years old at time of birth. His birth date is 7-?-1880. Only child. He practiced medicine in Princeton, NC Johnston County married Laura Elizabeth (Bessie) Joyner 4-?-1919Mother was 48-49 d.o.b. 1-?- 1892 ?. grew up in Johnston County as well as Dr. Woodard They had no other children biological or otherwise. Interesting points: Both birth mother's brother was a Dr. as well as adoptive dad. Possibly an arrange ment made between them. Dr. & Mrs. Woodard were married almost 21 years before they adopt a child. I think that's odd. Possible related story. Just before my birth a young woman and an older woman stopped at my parents’ house (608 Claiborne St, Goldsboro, NC) summer 1965. It was pouring rain so my dad ( Henri Clay) went out to their car and asked if he could help them. The driver (younger woman) said they were looking for a particular Dr. A name my dad had never heard. My mom came to the door to see what was happening. She told dad to invite them in but the young woman declined. The passenger (older woman) began staring at my mom and tears were streaming down her face. Dad said she did not take her eyes off her. Dad went in to look for this Dr. in the phone book. He did not find anyone with that name listed, Dr. or otherwise. He went back out and told the girl that he could not find it. She said something like "Thanks for looking we'll find it." As they pulled out the woman was still staring intently at my mom. The driver appeared to be younger than mom. A letter from daughter Sherley was sent to birth mother's brother to have hand delivered. Contact was also made with the pastor of her church. We do not know if Louise was given the letter or if she was told anything about her daughter searching for her. There was never a response from her or her brother. Was told the pastor just went to the brother. Adoptee parents are both deceased and also an adopted sister. Sherley has no family at all and would love to make contact with her half-siblings. He and his sister were left in an orphange in New York City, NY when they were young children, never seeing their parent's again Birth Mother Sue Seidenberg is deceased in 2006 Her dob 1-6-1927. She was born in Winston Salem, NC to Miles and Elizabeth (Kirby) Sprinkle.It has been reported recently by Sue's youngest sister, who still lives in Winston Salem, NC that when Jim was born Sue came to live with an older brother in Winston Salem, gave birth and a couple from Philly, PA came and got the baby boy, paid Sue and left. I have a photo of the couple in front of a church in Philly PA, holding Jim and he was baptized that day. I was also told that Jim's adoptive father was possibly! a lawyer and his adoptive mom may have had the nickname "Toots". Also there is a possibly that this couple took Jim and relocated in California. Only 6 of the nine children belong to Dan and Sue Seidenberg. The oldest brother has a different father and Scott and twin girls have the same father. I was told that I did not belong to Dan Seidenberg, but no will give up my biological fathers name. Dan and Sue spilt up sometime between 1956 and 1958. Sue moved constantly and the children she kept went to many different schools, including California, Virginia, Texas, Missouri and Arizona. Sue was also married several times. She was a Leach, Nazelrod, Seidenberg and Clark. In fact I think it's fair to say that I have nothing truly definitive. I paid Omni Trace to do a search about 2+ years ago and they were of little help. After two years of constant asking for info they finally told me they could not find anything. Then a few days later they called to say they had found the names of my birthparents, Ellen Penn and Ben Patterson. I have had no luck finding anything with those names. They may or may not be right. About 2 weeks ago a woman named Paula contacted me and said she had the birth register for Mecklenburg County N.C. and that there was one birth of a boy on my birth date to an unwed mother. (I am fairly certain I was born out of wedlock to young girl from what my parents told me.) The birth mothers name on that one is Doris Maxine Cattle. So far I have had some leads on that name but still no luck. There is a Dorothy Maxine Cattle who lives in South Carolina and is 65 now who really seemed to fit the parameters. Simone called her on my behalf but it turns out she is not my birth mother. I am doing this for my two young kids so that they may have some idea of their heritage. I also am curious. Both of my parents are now gone. I never had any curiosity when they were alive but now that they have been gone for a while I think the natural curiosity has finally happened. Staley on 9-7th , I only know the years between 1955-1958. My Mother, Barbara Burke was found in 12-?-1960 for abandoning a 2nd child at Griffin Clinic in Asheboro, NC and had used an assumed name when she checked into the clinic on 6-21-1959 which made it difficult for the authorities to find her. However birth certificate states she was. Last known address was 208 W. Campbell, Frankfort Ky. I would also like to locate my birth father, John Manuel Scott. His dob is unknown. According to my birth certificate he was 35 at the time of my birth, making his birthdate in ?-?-1921. However adoption records state he was 53 making birthdate in ?-?-1903. This could just be a typing error. I would also like to find out if I have any siblings.
