Searching For: The birth blood line/correct surnames of my grandfather and his siblings from Miles City, Montana. There were 8 or 9 children born in Miles City, Montana between 1890s and about 1910. William (Robert), Birdie, Stella (Leota) Theodore (Teddy), Albert, Mary (May), Henry, Albert...all Cummings. Born to Mary E and AH Cummings.All Other Information: I do not know if the birth parents were using their correct surname or maiden name. I do not know where they came from, only that they ended up in Montana in late 1800s and had several children thru the early 1900s in Miles City. The kids were all scattered to orphanages, reform schools, etc, names and birthdates vary greatly. Unable to locate any records beside census and Montana prison records with my grandfather using several different alias as well as all of the other siblings. I'd very much like to know where the parents are from, what happened to the kids and hopefully discover my true surname and ancestry clues. My grandpa died in 1960s as Robert Brennan. I've discovered some of his siblings --all deceased now, as well as the parents Mary E and AH Cummings. The wetnurse's name is Juliet Nearbonne, and the midwife who delivered my grandma is Hirlanda Schneider. My grandmother's birth father wrote to her adopted parents to ask for a photo of his daughter. The letter he wrote came from Medicine Hat, Alberta, Canada. This was written when my grandmother was a young girl, aprox between the ages of 1 and 5. (Update) Unfortunately, we don't know the age of her birth mother or birth father, nor the color of their eyes and hair. Marguerite's eyes were blue and hair dark brown. When she was young until a teenager, it was blond. Also, she was very fair skinned.

All Other Information: Looking for my fathers birth parents . His birth mother was Mattie and she had no family except and aunt she lived with in Redlodge, MT. His father was believed to be named Alf and possible worked at a gas station in Red Lodge. Birth mother was in the Florence Critteton Home in Helena, MT. Final adoption date 8-19-1929. (Update) The birth mother was 17 at the time of birth, we did find a young lady in Big Timber, MT that left school and returned the next year the first name was Mattie or Madeline. The birth father was 21 years old. We have no idea what eye or hair color was, we have never been able to recieve much information from the Florence Crittenton Home in Helena, MT. Roberts eye were blue and hair was light brown, blond as a child. He was 5'10" tall, he passed away in 1981. No idea what parents height was.

All Other Information: Obviously as you can see, I don't have much information, but need help. Thank you for any that you can give me. I'm looking for my half-brother. The only clues given me from my family: there was a son; his birth mother's name was Geraldine Rice; she came from Montana; she lived in Sheridan, MT; worked in an airplane factory in San Diego sometime between ?-?-1943 and ?-?-1945; when she found out she was pregnant, a friend dropped her off in Butte, Montana. I have found a Geraldine Rice Herzig (deceased) who was born in MT in ?-?-1923 and have contacted her daughter, Charlotte Williams (found in Geraldine's obit in the Columbia Basin Herald, Moses Lake, Washington State). Mrs. Williams knows nothing of a child being born before her birth in ?-?-1946. She did say that her mother was from Sheridan, MT and did work in an airplane factory in San Diego during WWII. My father (10-2-1916 to 5-31-2009), was known as Jim or Jimmie and was from the Black Hills of SD but moved to San Diego in the early ?-?-1940's. He worked in an airplane factory during that time. He was married. Geraldine was single. There aren't any full siblings. There are two known half-sisters (my sister Patricia B. ?-?-1946 and I b. ?-?-1938). If this Geraldine Rice is the correct one, due to the social stigma of the time, she may have stayed with relatives or gone to a Home for Unwed Mothers--possibly in Idaho where her father and mother were born. Possible other states--California and Missouri. I haven't posted on any other website at this time.

I would love to get in touch with any remaining relatives, as my dad was a lovely man who I miss very much. At the time of my father's adoption, my birth grandmother asked if she could keep in contact with my father but was told "no". My father always wondered about her and family, as I have been for 20 years or so. No public documents available for divorce. My Mom then married my birth father R. Bruce McDaniel on 5-31-1952 in Redmond, OR. The story goes...my Mom gave a baby girl up for adoption in Spokane, WA before moving to Redmond, Oregon and meeting my birth father. They met and married within 3 months. I have contacted all living relatives, looked through all documents / letters / photo albums with no luck. All Other Information: Searching for my uncle. He was born as Richard Owen Baker 12-20-1950 in the Deaconess Hospital in Billings, Montana. His birth mother was Thelma (Waltz) Baker and his birth father was Henry Rufus Baker. We believe he legally changed his name and is going by a different name now. I believe that my uncle was a black / gray market adoptee because he and 3 birth siblings were taken by the family doctor in Billings when the birth mother, Thelma, left the husband, Henry, and married another man moving to California. She left five with Henry, then he had Henry jailed for non-payment of child support. The family doctor took the children and simply gave them out to patients of his that he knew wanted children, or in one case, gave a child to a doctor friend of his in another town who then gave the child away. Nothing was documented. (Update) Thelma was 21 years old when she had Richard. Henry was 28 years old. Thelma had blue or green eyes and blond hair (maybe red ?) I don't think she was much taller than about 5'1" or 5'2" tall. Henry was the first generation of his family born in the U.S. His parents came straight from Kolb, Russia. I think he would have had dark eyes and dark hair. I'm not sure how tall Henry was. Richard has two remaining older brothers. The two look very similar to each other and I would expect Richard to match. Both are about 5'7" tall, with slight builds. They had green eyes and dark hair when they were younger but are all white hair now. My father was one that the doctor in Billings gave to a doctor in Casper, Wyoming who then presented him to my adoptive grandparents. They simply took him and raised him as their own, never formally adopting him. It was when he registered for the selective service to join the military that he learned that he wasn't who he thought he was. We believe a similar set of circumstances happened with Richard.

All Other Information: From my records I have learned that I was born in Butte, Montana. I would like to obtain a copy of my original birth certificate. My birth mother is deceased and is buried in Bisbee, Arizona. I have not been able to locate any information about my birth father other than his name. I would like to find out if I have any siblings. My court records indicate that there were other children. My birth mother and father did not stay together. He apparently left her in Butte and she returned to Bisbee. I would like to find my original birth certificate with possible to leads to who Robert H. Bevington was and where he went. My adoption was originated in Bisbee. My birth mother knew and asked the sheriff and his wife if they would be interested in adopting me. Their children were grown but they had become friends with the couple who would become my adoptive parents and knew they wanted to adopt. They contacted my adoptive parents who had returned to Texas to live. With my birth mother's permission, my adoptive parents returned to Arizona and claimed me. I came to Texas to live with them. My adoption was finalized in 1954 just after my birth mother was killed in a car accident. I have copies of court records, my birth mother's obituary, and some other information I have been able to locate. However, nothing found regarding my birth father and his whereabouts. I assume he is probably deceased by now.

His adoptive parents adopted him as an infant, but we're not sure when and were surprised he had the same name on his original birth certificate when we obtained it (minus a mispelling of his middle name). His birth mother's address at the time is listed as McCormick Hotel c/o Rita Ronquillo. She was born in MT (25 at time of birth -- around 1928?) and birth father was born in WA (27 at time of birth - around 1926?). Birth mother's name is listed as Beverly Ruth Walker, but she signed the birth certificate, Ruth B Walker. My father has distinct looks: red hair, blue eyes, fair skin and is 6'4". Birth certificate listed one child living at the time of his birth. Many friends in Billings, MT have mistaken another man for my father (their looks are that simliar), so we're thinking maybe he has an older brother that looks just like him. People have seen this look- alike person in Absorkee, MT and Billings, MT. Adoptive parents are both deceased so we don't have any other information. An aunt says she remembers his birth mother as a tall red headed woman who worked as a waitress with my grandmother (his adoptive mother) in Billings. Not sure if this is a good memory or not. She died in 2005, but I’ve found some other family members and have been talking to them. I’m still searching for the birth father. Since I’ve found her, I have discovered that about most everything on the original birth certificate was false, so I’m assuming the information about the birth father is false, too. I received a picture from her sister of a potential birth father, and I’m looking into that information – she thinks his first name might have been Russell.
